In Maubeuge there is a car factory, founded by the Société des Usines Chausson in 1969. Since then several Renault models have been assembled there (Renault Fuego 1979-1985, Kangoo 1990).
The MCA factory has a capacity of 240 000 vehicles per year and since 2007 more than 200 million Euro has been invested in it. MCA is specialized in the production of utility vehicles : a 100% electrical model (Kangoo Z.e. which received the prize « Van of the Year » in 2012). It also concluded a partnership with Daimler for the assembly of a new van, the Mercedes Citan, insuring them a bright future.
